Procházka built his name in Asia long before he got to the UFC. He spent years in Rizin Fighting Federation, won the light heavyweight grand prix there, and left Japan as one of the most violent finishers outside the promotion. He signed with the UFC in 2020 and announced himself by knocking out Volkan Oezdemir on debut. A finish of Dominick Reyes in 2021 set up the Teixeira title fight a year later. Away from the cage, he finished a master’s degree in security and strategic studies in 2025, and told UFC.com he turned down a June title shot against Magomed Ankalaev to sit his final exams.
His style runs on movement, range manipulation, and odd striking angles carried over from karate and Muay Thai. He lands 5.61 significant strikes per minute at 57% accuracy — high-volume aggressor, always coming forward. He switches between orthodox and southpaw mid-exchange, throws on broken rhythms, and eats shots to land his own. The same traits that produce highlight-reel finishes have hurt him: all six of his career losses are knockouts or TKOs, including back-to-back stoppages by Alex Pereira at UFC 295 and UFC 303.
His UFC résumé is finishes and finishes absorbed. The submission of Teixeira in round five of UFC 275 is still the signature moment, a fifth-round rear-naked choke after twenty-five minutes of trading damage. He stopped Aleksandar Rakić at UFC 300 in April 2024, then knocked out former champion Jamahal Hill at UFC 311 in January 2025. A third-round TKO of Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 320 in October 2025 put him back in title contention. The Pereira losses bracket those wins. The April 2026 defeat to Ulberg, a first-round knockout in Miami, added a fourth title-fight loss to the ledger.
Procházka isn’t the champion anymore and isn’t the next contender after the Ulberg loss. He has talked openly, including to Ariel Helwani, about chasing Pereira up to heavyweight, and told UFC.com that fatherhood is changing how he trains. At 33, with six knockout losses on the card, the real question is whether his style can survive one more climb to a title fight.
